The two parties will also establish a long-term partnership to promote the implementation of up to 5GWh utility-scale and distributed energy storage projects to meet the growing demand for renewable energy in Texas, USA.
It is reported that the 450MWh battery energy storage project is expected to start commercial operation in 2024. CATL will provide HGP with the outdoor prefabricated cabin system EnerC, which has the characteristics of high safety, long life and high integration.

CATL’s investor relations activity records disclosed in May last year show that in the field of energy storage, the company actively develops customers. In September last year, Ningde Times also announced a cooperation agreement with FlexGen, an American energy storage technology platform and solution provider, to supply the latter with 10GWh of advanced energy storage products within three years. CATL will supply EnerC, a containerized liquid-cooled energy storage product, to FlexGen.

On the evening of February 15, Narada announced that it had recently received a bid winning notice from a major Italian power company. The company won the bid for its lithium battery energy storage system project in the United States in the first place, with a total capacity of 1.36GWh and a maximum bid amount of no more than $323 million. Narada Power said that if the successful implementation of this bidding project will have a positive impact on the company's future new power storage business expansion and operating performance.
In March this year, BYD won the bid for the 600,000-kilowatt photovoltaic + 600,000-kilowatt-hour energy storage project in Fukang City, Xinjiang, China. The procurement scale of the lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system for this project is 150MW/600MWh, and the bidding scope is the supply of complete equipment required for the energy storage system (the energy storage battery uses lithium iron phosphate batteries). Zhengzhou Fudi Battery Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD, also plans to build an energy storage system project with an annual output of 20GWh, with an investment of 270 million yuan. Energy storage combiner cabinet production line, assembly production line, etc.
On March 15 this year, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and Edison Energy of Japan reached a strategic cooperation agreement, and the two parties will jointly develop the Japanese energy storage and recycling market. According to the agreement, the planned sales target for the first year is 1GWh, which will increase to 2GWh per year from the second year. Guoxuan High-Tech will provide batteries, modules and BMS, etc. Edison Energy will be responsible for Japanese energy storage customer management, EPC services, energy storage system operation and maintenance and other market-side services.
At the same time, several energy storage projects have started construction one after another. On March 2, Longking Honeycomb energy storage battery module PACK and system integration joint venture project commencement ceremony was held. The project was jointly funded and constructed by Longjing Environmental Protection and Honeycomb Energy. The construction investment of the first phase of 2GWh energy storage PACK integrated production project was about 500 million Yuan. In the future, the investment and construction of the second phase of 3GWH energy storage module PACK production project will be launched in due course.
On March 18, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Yangtze River Delta Energy Storage Industry R&D and Manufacturing Base Project with a total investment of 5.1 billion yuan and the unveiling ceremony of the Yangtze River Delta Energy Storage International R&D Center were held in Jiaxing Economic Development Zone, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. The project is constructed in two phases. After the first phase of the project is officially put into production, the annual output value of batteries, modules and energy storage systems is expected to be no less than 6 billion yuan; after the two phases of the project are fully put into production, the annual output value of batteries, modules and energy storage systems is expected to be Not less than 10 billion yuan.
On March 20, the 2023 Liaoning Province First Quarter Key Project Concentrated Start-up Mobilization Conference and EVE Lithium Energy Storage and Power Battery Project Start-up Ceremony was held in Tiexi District, Shenyang City, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan. According to reports, EVE lithium energy storage and power batteries have the product characteristics of low temperature resistance, high energy density, and high reliability, which is in line with the development trend of "intelligence, electrification, and lightweight" in the new energy power battery industry.
On the morning of March 22, the Zhongke Hongtai (Anhui) ultra-low temperature energy storage battery project located in the Economic Development Zone in the suburbs of Tongling, Anhui Province broke ground. The total investment of the project is about 1.05 billion yuan: after the completion of the first phase, the annual production capacity of special ultra-low temperature energy storage power batteries will be 0.5GWH; in the second phase, the production capacity of special ultra-low temperature energy storage and power batteries will be 3.5GWH.
In addition, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Shenghong Group, etc. have also made great efforts to expand the production of energy storage batteries.
